Submit to Belfry Theatre's Creators' Circle and Incubator Project

Belfry Theatre is accepting submissions for their Creator's Circle and Incubator Project. The Incubator Project aims to provide local theatre artists and/or independent theatre companies an opportunity for creative exploration, without any pressure to produce results. The Creators' Circle is an opportunity for local playwrights to meet together and share work and receive dramaturgical feedback from Governor General’s Award-winning Playwright and PGC member Kevin Kerr and Melissa Taylor. Apply by October 11.

Deadline for Submissions – October 11, 2024

The Belfry’s INCUBATOR PROJECT aims to provide local Theatre Artists and/or Independent Theatre Companies an opportunity for creative exploration, without any pressure to produce results.

The Belfry’s CREATORS’ CIRCLE is an opportunity for local Playwrights to meet together, share their work, and receive dramaturgical feedback from Governor General’s Award-winning Playwright Kevin Kerr and Melissa Taylor.

The INCUBATOR PROJECT provides space in either the Belfry’s BMO Studio Theatre or Studio B for workshops and/or rehearsals, along with mentorship from members of the Belfry Staff—artistic, technical, and/or administrative.

Projects that require rehearsal space for exploration and development will be given priority. Scheduling is dependent on space availability.

The CREATOR’S CIRCLE meets once a month between January and December 2025.

TO SUBMIT:

Please limit your submission to two pages

Requirements for the INCUBATOR PROJECT:

a short bio
an outline of your project or idea
what form you have chosen for its realization
why you need workshop space
what kind of mentorship you might desire

Requirements for the CREATORS’ CIRCLE:

a short bio
an outline of your play or your idea for a play
how you think participating in the Creators’ Circle will benefit you
An interview will be scheduled to discuss your project in detail.
