Call for Submissions: Teesri Duniya Theatre’s Fireworks Play Development Program

Teesri Duniya Theatre’s Fireworks Play Development Program is a guided 6-month-long mentorship that seeks to provide an encouraging and safe environment for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and socially conscious playwrights to experiment in the creation and development of their work. Fireworks serve as an incubator for new and original plays.

Here you will receive:

• Culturally sensitive dramaturgical feedback on your work with professional dramaturges
• Evolution of your craft as a playwright through sustained mentorship program
• Active feedback from other artists within the mentorship group
• The chance to hear your writing read out loud by actors in a live play reading/workshop at the end of the unit

Starting in mid-November 2024, playwrights will work to develop their plays over 9 months, meeting every 2 weeks with a dramaturg and the playwrights of the Fireworks cohort. This will culminate in a public reading of each playwright’s script before a live audience at the very end of the unit in May 2025.
