We are very serious about comedy.
The Theatre Centre is interested in comedy artists who could bring fresh, hilarious, and socially relevant comedy onto our stage.
We are especially interested in comedians who engage in intelligent and poignant storytelling. We are not interested in artists who “punch down”, where someone’s identity is used as the butt of a joke.
Comedy is Art artists, once programmed in the festival, are also provided with access to growth. They are able to receive dramaturgical/directorial advice from our Associate Artistic Director liza paul, as well as rehearsal time and space. We are looking for comedians who will work with us to build up their repertoire, and use our stage as a platform to further their careers in comedy.
