Little Lion Theatre Company - Play Date Call for Canadian Scripts (International)

Little Lion Theatre Company is opening an ongoing submissions process for new work by Canadian playwrights to partake in our new play reading club, Play Date, which launched in the Spring of 2023.

Play Date is a new meet-up where theatre makers based in London can get together and connect by reading new plays from Canadian playwrights. All scripts that partake in Play Date will receive feedback from our collaborators and will be considered for performance in our Stories From scratch series or our staged reading events at The Drayton Arms Theatre.

With this programme we're looking to create a network for artists in Canada to creatively connect with artists in the UK. We hope to use this platform as an opportunity to expand new work from Canadian theatre makers by showcasing their work abroad.

Scripts can be at any stage of development for submissions and can be either full length or short plays.

Past collaborators include Steven Elliott Jackson, Claire Dunn Ross and Kirk Ross, Himanshu Sitlani, Kevin Longfield, April Leung, Natalia Bushnik, Natalie Frijia, Chloë Whitehorn, Matti Mclean, Hools Wyder, Emily Jane King and Keuna Miller, Ciarán Myers, Lynne Martin, Trevor Copp, Jo MacDonald, Steve Vargo, Amanda Samuelson, Renae Miller, Adriana DeAngelis, Nicola Lanthier-Rogers, and Christen Shepherd.

Email littlelionplayseries@gmail.com with your script submissions. Please include a small brief on your play, a little info on your creative process as a writer, and any thoughts what you have on furthering the development of the piece.

If you have any questions at all, send us a message at littleliontheatrecompany@gmail.com.

This is a non-paid opportunity.

Only registered members can apply for jobs.
