The University of Toronto, Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies (CDTPS), and Ontario Studies in Education (OISE) will be marking 100 years of the birth of Frantz Fanon in October 2025. As part of the 100th year anniversary, Jill Carter (CDTPS) and Roy Moodley (OISE) are planning two or more evenings that will feature several 10-minute plays; based on Fanon’s imaginary encounters with other legendary activist and anti-colonial theorists and philosophers (and indeed other imaginary figures also) whom Frantz Fanon may or may not have influenced but with whom he never had the opportunity to connect with during his lifetime.
Playwrights who submit a play will be part of the adjudication process; and if they wish, could also direct and/ or act in their plays and / or other playwright's work. The entire process is a volunteer effort, and no payment is offered or received. It will be a free event for the audience.

Intention to submit a play to be received by the 31st January 2025. A playwrights zoom meeting will be held in the middle of February 2025. Submission of the play, 31st March 2025.
