Description

Are you eager to nurture social good through arts and culture?
ArtsPond is delighted to announce two open calls for new creative fellowships in Ontario: I Love My Gig Ontario and Caring Cultures.

These two paid, online, 12-week programs run from Late February to May 2025. While different age and location requirements apply for each program, they are both open to artists, producers, and other creatives from all disciplines who self-identify as Indigenous, Racialized, D/deaf, Disabled, or live Outside the core (in suburban, rural, or remote communities). Fellows will receive a fee, creative mentorship, and access support for their participation. Personal projects created during the fellowship will be published online on our website.

Highlights:

I Love My Gig Ontario brings together 13 creatives of all ages 18 and older from across Ontario to reflect on lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic and to explore how caring practices in arts and culture, including mutual aid, can help address future threats to personal and collective wellbeing. Each fellow will receive a $2,000 fee with creative support available from mentors, care doulas, and peers. Fellows will create a personal project that reflects on their pandemic stories and offers suggestions for the future.

Caring Cultures brings together 8 creative youth aged 18 to 35 years from in and around Toronto and Hamilton to explore how arts and culture can spark meaningful youth-led social change and care in the face of complex personal and global challenges from the climate crisis to social inequities and more. The geographic scope includes the areas surrounding Kitchener/Waterloo to Markham in the north, and Brantford to Bowmanville in the south. Each fellow will receive a $3,000 fee with creative support available from mentors, care doulas, and peers. Fellows will create a personal project that reflects on what they need to guide social change and community care in the future.

We are committed to responding meaningfully to all access and care needs. No special expertise is required to participate, just a willingness to reflect on past challenges and imagine pathways to a better future. Any questions or requests for support can be sent to Founder Jessa Agilo and the Care Team at care@artspond.com or (647) 920-6187.

The deadline to apply for both fellowships has been extended to January 13, 2025 at 5 pm Eastern

Only registered members can apply for jobs.
