Norman is a writer, actor, and visual artist whose work is devoted to creating opportunities for underrepresented people. His plays include Aging Youth Gang (Crow’s Theatre commission), Eunuch X Pirate (Playwright in Residence at Outside the March, Tyrone Guthrie Award recipient at Stratford Festival), Theory (premieres at Tarragon Theatre and Mosaic Theater Company of Washington, D.C., Voaden Prize recipient, Carol Bolt Award nominee, published by Playwrights Canada Press), Pu-Erh (four Dora Award nominations including Outstanding New Play, Voaden Prize finalist), The Zoonotic Story (Stratford Festival/National Arts Centre), and I Know I’m Supposed to Love You (Touchstone Theatre). He was a finalist for the Johanna Metcalf Performing Arts Prize.
He holds a BFA in Acting/Theatre from University of British Columbia and a BFA (Honours) in Film from Toronto Metropolitan University. Norman was born in Guangzhou, grew up in East Vancouver, and is based in Toronto.
