Malcolm Shiner
Malcolm is a retired educator, living in Thornhill Ontario with his wife of 59 years. He belongs to an amateur theatre group, (The Footlights Club), which performs on the local Anglican church Parish Hall stage.
Since 1986 he has been involved in all aspects of theatre there, and since 2002, has directed, written, and produced all the Footlights productions there. These have included 8 full-length comedies, and 14 sketches.
The material for his plays largely comes from his own life experiences-eg: education – The Acting Principal; politics – Playing at Politics; growing old- Forget About It; moving houses- It’s Your Move; church Life- A Rectory for Two; cottage life- A Cottage Weekend; travel- Rough Seas, and dementia- Where Should Mother Go?
