Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre is proud to present Just Friends, a new play by local playwright Faith Andrew, opening Friday, May 2. This heartfelt coming-of-age dramedy explores the complexities of friendships, first loves, and the inevitable highs and lows of growing up.
Just Friends follows Max and Elliot, two best friends who are definitely nothing more than that… After graduation, Max moves away to attend university while Elliot stays local to continue his studies. Initially they stayed close with frequent phone calls, voice notes, and occasional visits home. However, when Max meets Lee, the charming boy who lives in her dorm, things begin to change. Suddenly, the once effortless conversations and visits home just aren’t what they used to be. At times hilarious, at others heart-wrenching, Just Friends invites audiences to reflect on the messy, beautiful journey of growing up and navigating the ever-changing dynamics of close friendships and first loves.
Just Friends will run for three weekends, with evening performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. The show opens on May 2 and will run until May 18 at Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre, located at 9 Princess Street East in Waterloo.
Please note we will also be hosting a special talkback session after the performance on May 10! This is a unique opportunity to discuss the play with the cast and director and gain deeper insight into the creative process.
Don’t miss this moving and amusing exploration of the bonds that shape us and the people we become. We invite you to share in the journey of Just Friends with us this May!
