Join Governor General’s Award-winning playwright Vern Thiessen for a free and engaging reading of his published work, Icemen – set in the dangerous and lucrative world of Barrie’s ice harvesting industry.

Hosted by Burro’d Theatre’s Artistic Director, Iain Moggach (who directed the world premiere of Icemen in 2023), the reading will be followed by a brief discussion about the play, Barrie’s ice harvest history, and the artform of playwriting.

Come on out to the downtown library branch on April 15th to hear the lines spoken aloud by the writer himself, and learn from one of Canada’s foremost living playwrights!
