PGC members have been paired up with an international playwright to share their work and discuss the craft of playwriting with one another. You can tune into these live events and get a glimpse of what these theatre creators have been up to!

About the Playwrights:

Annabel Griffiths Fitzsimmons grew up in Bermuda, England, and Canada. She is a playwright, creative collaborator, theatre and movement teacher, and long-time member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Western University, is a graduate of the Theatre Arts: Performance program at Toronto Metropolitan University, and is currently an MFA candidate in the University of Guelph Creative Writing program (2027).  

With her writing partners, Alison Lawrence and Mary Francis Moore, Annabel co-wrote the widely acclaimed play bittergirl (Scirocco Drama), Bittergirl – the Musical, and the book Bittergirl: Getting Over Getting Dumped (Penguin CDA/Penguin US/Distribuidora Brazil), as well as the plays Flush and Synchronecessity. She is co-writer of the new musical Beyond with Amy Sky and Steven Mackinnon. Annabel has written and developed numerous TYA plays, including The Gift and Feedback, and is the creator/writer of Reunited – the musical, currently in development with Thousand Islands Playhouse. 

Jennifer Lunn is an award-winning playwright and dramaturg whose work explores political, feminist and socially urgent themes through emotionally rich and accessible storytelling. 

Her debut play, Es & Flo, won the Popcorn Writing Award 2020 and the Nancy Dean Lesbian Playwriting Award (New York) 2022 before premiering at Wales Millennium Centre and transferring to the Kiln Theatre, London. It received its Australian premiere in Sydney in 2026.  

Her play Core, written to be performed in BSL and spoken English, was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting, the Papatango New Writing Prize and the RSC 37 Plays Competition. 

Other theatre credits include Terroir, written for Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’s New Writing Season; The Pilot, for Sherman Theatre; and Stop The Drop, for Theatr Clwyd. 

Her work for children includes book and lyrics for a family musical adaptation of Pinocchio for Christmas 2026 and writing the book and co-writing the lyrics with composer Gus Gowland for A Song to Save Us – a musical to be performed by 8-11 year olds as part of the UK-wide Playhouse Project. 

She is currently under commission with Clean Break Theatre Company – a company working with women connected to the criminal justice system.
