Johnnie Walker
Johnnie McNamara Walker is a writer and performer from Toronto. His first solo show, Redheaded Stepchild, has toured Canada coast to coast and is available in print from Playwrights Canada Press. His most recent solo shows are Iggy Beamish, which debuted at the Edmonton Fringe in 2023, and The Heterosexuals, which has been performed in Toronto, Edmonton, Victoria, Vancouver, Atlanta, Georgia, and Dublin, Ireland. His play Shove It Down My Throat premiered at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in 2019. His short film Saturn Devours has appeared at film festivals in Toronto, Montreal, and Los Angeles, and was featured by the National Screen Institute. He is a founding member of Queer burlesque troupe BoylesqueTO and has hosted dozens of their shows across North America. Johnnie also has ten years experience as nightlife producer DJ Orange Pekoe and is the creator of long-running Queer event series HEY GIRL HEY.
