Gordon Pengilly
Gordon Pengilly has written some fifty plays for TV, film, radio and stage. His work, including Seeds, Swipe, Metastasis, Drumheller Or Dangerous Times, Contraption, They Don’t Call Them Farmers Anymore, Bailey’s Way, Seeing In The Dark and The Work Play, has been produced across Canada and abroad. Hardhats And Stolen Hearts, co-created with Theatre Network, was one of the first Canadian plays to be performed Off-Broadway at the Performing Garage in 1978. His short screenplays and radio plays have been broadcast worldwide. Flesh & Ghost and Tom Form And The Speed Of Love were showcased at the Manhattan Theater Club by Broad Horizons Theatre Company with the latter being produced by BHT at the Edmonton Fringe. Among his many awards he has received the Writer’s Guild of Canada Jim Burt Prize, the BBC International Radio Drama Prize, and the W.O. Mitchell Book Prize for his first collection, Metastasis And Other Plays, published by NeWest Press in 2009.
