Alison Lawrence’s plays include The Thing Between Us (a finalist for the Playwrights Guild of Canada’s Carol Bolt Award), The Catering Queen, And All For Love, Too Close to Home and Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz: The Farmerettes. She co-wrote the play bittergirl, the book Bittergirl: Getting Over Getting Dumped (Penguin Canada, Plume US), and Bittergirl – the musical with Annabel Fitzsimmons and Mary Francis Moore. The Catering Queen and bittergirl are published by Scirocco Drama, and her personal essays have been published in the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail and the National Post. She has also worked extensively onstage and onscreen as an actor, and produces theatre independently with the mcguffin company. Alison was born in Toronto and raised there and in Fleetwood, Ontario. She is a graduate of George Brown Theatre School, an alumna of the Banff Playwrights Lab and a MacDowell Fellow.
