As playwright, actor and co-founder of BC’s rural avant-garde Caravan Farm Theatre, Peter Anderson has helped forge a distinctive body of work marked by audacity and a genre-defying blend of mask, large-scale design elements and site-specific staging. He is the recipient of eighteen nominations and eight Jessie Richardson awards for playwriting and acting; a Bay Area Critics’ Award for ensemble production; a NY Drama Desk nomination for innovation; a Victoria Critic’s Award for Best Actor; Gemini, Leo, Betty Mitchell and Dora nominations for Best Actor (The Overcoat). He holds a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan’s Residential College, where he received three Hopwood Awards for poetry and fiction, and is a graduate of the Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre. His prose poems have appeared online in Best Microfictions, Unbroken, Sublunary Review, Frigg, and elsewhere. He lives in Vancouver with his wife, artist and playwright, Melody Anderson.
