About the Playwrights:

William Rubel holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of British Columbia and a BA from Columbia University (summa cum laude, Philolexian Prize in Writing). Currently an MFA candidate at UBC, he is a community-engaged practitioner of eco-theatre who draws on fantasy, myth, and science fiction to co-create shared, experiential “what if” events of reworlding and reimagining. His most recent work of speculative eco-theatre, Robin Redbreast in a Cage, is a mainstage presentation in the 2026 rEvolver Festival in Vancouver, BC. He is active in the Blake Society and the Center for Process Studies. He is an ambassador for the International Forum for Eco-Embodied Arts and is engaged with the international AnFinn Project (Autism and Neurodiversity reFraming Innovation).

Glenn Sevilla Mas is a 2015 Asian Cultural Council Fellow and a 2003 Ford Foundation International Fellow who has an MFA in Playwriting from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He was awarded the Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas, a lifetime achievement award for Filipino writers, by the Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL) in 2020. His profile and plays are included in the Theater Volume of the CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Art. He is a 9-time Palanca winner for his plays and has three books published by the UST Publishing House. He has mentored the young playwrights of CCP’s Virgin Labfest Writing Fellowship Program since 2009 up until the present. He is an actor for film and television who has to his credit four Cinemalaya films: “John Denver Trending”, “Huling Palabas”, “Rumaragasa (Raging)”, and “Tirik (To Set Upright)”. He has served as artistic director and moderator of Tanghalang Ateneo for four theater seasons and is Ateneo de Manila University’s Theater Arts Program Coordinator who teaches theater and playwriting classes in the university’s Department of Fine Arts.
