About the Playwrights:

Norman Yeung: Norman’s play Aging Youth Gang will premiere in 2027. He is writing Eunuch X Pirate with development from Outside the March and Grand Theatre. Plays include Theory (Tarragon Theatre, Mosaic Theater Company of Washington, D.C., published by Playwrights Canada Press), Pu-Erh (Theatre Passe Muraille, Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts), The Zoonotic Story (Stratford Festival, National Arts Centre), and I Know I’m Supposed to Love You (Touchstone Theatre). He has received The Voaden Prize and Tyrone Guthrie Awards and been nominated for the Tom Hendry Award, Carol Bolt Award, and Dora Award. He was a finalist for the Johanna Metcalf Performing Arts Prize. 

He has performed on stages across the country, including multiple seasons at Stratford Festival, Crow’s Theatre, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Canadian Stage, Theatre Calgary, Citadel Theatre, and many more. Norman holds a BFA in Acting/Theatre from UBC and a BFA (Honours) in Film from TMU. 

Sofia Kapsourou is a Greek prominent, internationally awarded playwright, director, actress and lyricist. She was educated at Iasmos Drama School of Athens and the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She was awarded the Art Bridge Award by Sahne Tozu Tiyatrosu in Izmir, the International Achievement Award by the 17th Meeting of Turkish Theaters and the International Theatre Award by the 9th International Anatolia Theatre Awards in Istanbul for her achievements promoting Greek culture, creating artistic bridges and for her outstanding performance in international theatre festivals majorly successful. As a debutant playwright, she was honored by the UNESCO Club of the Department of Piraeus and Islands. She is a member of the Eurasian Theater Association. Her work has been commissioned and produced by the National Theatre of Greece, the National Theatre of Beijing, Central Scenes of Athens, Regional and Municipal Theatres etc. She has collaborated with International Festivals such as Nodar Dumbadze International Theater Festival, International Monodrama Festival Albamono, Istanbul Women Playwrights Theatre Festival, Türkiye TiyatroBuluşması, Napoli Teatro Festival, Festival Internacional de Poesia y Arte Grito de Mujer. She teaches playwriting, dramaturgy, theatre adaptation, and acting in Greece and abroad.
