About the Playwrights:

Chantal Bilodeau is a playwright and the founding artistic director of the Arts & Climate Initiative. For the past two decades, she has led projects at the intersection of storytelling and the climate crisis, encouraging artists, students, and audiences to engage in climate action through live performances, talks, publications, workshops, artist convenings, and a worldwide distributed theatre festival. Her plays have been presented in a dozen countries and translated into four languages. Her ongoing project is a series of eight plays about the social and environmental changes facing the eight Arctic states. She is pursuing a PhD in English at the University of Victoria and is a trainee in the Coastal Climate Solutions Leaders program.

Anna Skov Jensen is a Danish playwright born in the suburbs of Copenhagen in 1986. She graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2019. In 2021, she premiered THE INSIDER — a play about the Cum-Ex scandal and the moral consequences of large-scale financial fraud. The production was awarded a Fringe First Award in 2023 at the Edinburgh Fringe and has since toured internationally, including venues in Hong Kong and South Korea. Other critically acclaimed works include ENERGI (Parkteatret, DK), about a power plant and the political controversy surrounding nuclear power in Denmark in the 1970s and early 1980s, and DOBBELT W (Blaagaard Theatre, DK), co-created with actor Wahid Sui Mahmoud, about a father navigating between the worlds of his Palestinian refugee father and his Danish-assimilated teenage sons. Her work has been presented in readings and workshops at Beijing Fringe Festival (CN), The Royal Danish Theatre (DK), and Teater Grob (DK), among others. She often works with genre hybrids and collective processes, and believes that matter precedes and shapes form and dramaturgical structure. Alongside her playwriting practice, Anna has been a regular teacher at the Danish National School of Performing Arts since 2019, teaching Scenic Dialogue and Language, Character, Research, and Entrepreneurship.
