Laura Mullin
Laura Mullin is a published playwright, writer, director and producer, and Co-Artistic Director of the award-winning Expect Theatre. She is also Co-Host and Producer of CBC’s PlayME podcast, which transforms Canadian stage plays into bingeable audio dramas. PlayME has received Gold at the New York Festivals Radio Awards and is a Webby Award Honoree.
Laura works across theatre, audio, film, and television, and has regularly contributed to CBC.ca. Her short story History of Visual Sources won the Open Book Short Story Contest, and its stage adaptation received an Honourable Mention in the Herman Voaden National Playwriting Competition. Her original seven-part audio drama series Tunnel Runners, co-created with Chris Tolley, ranked among the top 10 fiction podcasts on Apple and received Silver at the 2025 New York Festivals Radio Awards.
Her work with Expect Theatre has been nominated for five Dora Awards and shortlisted twice for the Toronto Arts Foundation Awards. Notable works include Romeo/Juliet REMIXED, STATIC (World Stage Festival), AWAKE (Next Stage Festival and international film festivals), Burusera (commissioned by Watermark Theatre and developed as a CBC TV pilot), and the CBC Kids series Mini Makeover.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from York University.
