Jared Mallard

Jared Mallard (B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed.) was born in Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland. He is a distinguished award winner on provincial, national, and international levels, having secured accolades and contest victories in both Canada and the United States. His play A Year in the Stars and Rain (Social Pariah’s) was nominated for the prestigious The Dorothy Lees-Blakey award in 2020. Other notable works include the comedy Princess Ashley and The Battle of Goblin Swamp (2013) and 22nd Century Digital Boy (2017), both of which have also received awards in the United States. His most recent works include a new teen drama titled Are We Okay (2022) and his first children’s book, Princess Grumpkin (2023).
Jared has been honored with the Minister’s Excellence in Education Award and is an active leader in the arts community, running the Drama Club at Fredericton High School. He resides in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with his wife and their two children, Jonah and Juliana.
