Don Macrae
Don Macrae has been a happy inhabitant of the theatre world since discovering acting at age 16. Many years of reciting playwrights’ words finally inspired him to try his hand at the craft. His one-act drama A Night in Flanders recounts the creation of John McCrae’s poem In Flanders Fields. Don has also written a two-act drama, A Hard Place, a one-act drama, A Pretense of Need, and a one-act comedy-drama, Lingerie. His one-man musical Great Scot! features the story of Scottish poet Robert Burns – told by the bard himself. Don has also written four family musicals: A Dickens of a Christmas, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood and The Emperor’s New Clothes. Don’s most recent offering is the outlandishly entertaining Ballard! The Musical, the curious account of crusty Toronto Maple Leafs’ owner Harold Ballard.
