An internationally-acclaimed writer, Julia’s plays have been produced across North America and in Europe. WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN was in Boston Court Pasadena’s Polly Warfield Award-winning season and short-listed for the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle’s “Best Production.” Julia’s work has been nominated at the Tom Hendry Awards and Ovation Recommended. She was playwright in residence at the Banff Centre, working on I AM AN ISLAND, premiering in 2024.
Julia’s films have been selections at TIFF, Fantasia, Palm Springs. Her feature film adaptation of WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN premiered at SXSW, winning awards including: “Best Feature” at the Santa Fe International Film Festival, Canadian Film Fest, and a Vancouver Film Critics Award nomination for “Best Screenplay”.
Julia often writes from a sidestep outside of reality. Her work is driven by a deep curiosity about the world and how weird it is to be a human here.
