Jenne Wason
Jenne Wason graduated from NYU, Tisch with a BFA in Drama/Dramatic Writing and is an alum of the BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.
Her musical WINESDAY, written with composer Joseph Benoit, ran Off-Broadway in 2024 and has also played venues across Southwestern Ontario. Jenne has recently been a finalist for the Kleban Award, 2X semi-finalist for the O’Neill National Music Theatre Conference, and recipient of the Forte Song Commission.
Jenne has written the book and lyrics for several musicals with composer Alan Cancelino: THE WHITE ROSE (NYMF; readings – York Theatre Company, Public Theater; workshop – Wright State) and BINGO CITY (concert – NYMF). The pair is currently working on WRITE NOW, a dark comedy musical (workshop reading – Provincetown‘s O’Neill Festival).
Jenne is currently serving as Creative Lead on LET’S GET TO KNOW HER, a musical theatre compilation project designed to bring more representation to female-identifying game-changers throughout history.
