Laurie Fyffe
LAURIE FYFFE is an Ottawa based playwright. Produced plays, 2015 to 2024, include: Beowulf In Afghanistan, The White Crocodile, Exciting Cause, with choreographer Allison Burns, (nominated for multiple Prix Rideau Awards), The Ring, The Secret Life of Emily Frances, and The Home Show. Prior to 2015, Laurie’s produced plays included: Paradise Express (Tarragon Theatre); Aunt Hannah (Factory Theatre); The Passion (Theatre Kingston); Ballad For A Rumrunner’s Daughter, A Field of Flowers and Bush Fire (Blyth Festival). In 2018, Mirage: The Arabian Adventure of Gertrude Bell received a reading as part of Alumnae Theatre’s New Ideas Festival, and Being Helen received a public reading courtesy of the Ergo Pink Arts Festival. Laurie has her MA in Theatre from uOttawa. She has been a writing mentor for Youth Infringement, and teaches Writing For Live Performance at Algonquin College. Works in progress include The Triumph of Judith Shakespeare and Being Helen.
