M. Rosie Fernandez has written and directed plays for radio and the stage.

Her comedic plays include The Wedding Cake, The Kitchen Party and Who Let the Gods Out.
Her play A Girl Named Maria was performed at the Harbourfront Theatre’s Ritmo y Color Festival. She’s written, directed and produced dramas for CBC Radio, and directed plays at The Alumnae Theatre, Glenn Gould Studio, Second City’s Tim Sims Theatre, and outdoor Shakespeare in the Park performances.

She was the Chair of the Women’s Caucus for the Playwright’s Guild of Canada (2015-2017) and Deputy Chair (2013- 2015). She has a Master’s degree in English literature and is from the Waterloo Region.
