Born in Dublin in 1969, Emma Donoghue is a playwright, Oscar-nominated screenwriter and Booker-shortlisted novelist who lives in Canada. Her work for the stage includes The Pull of the Stars, Room (shortlisted for the Carol Bolt Award for Best New Canadian Play), The Talk of the Town, Kissing the Witch, Ladies and Gentlemen and I Know My Own Heart. Donoghue’s Selected Plays was published by Oberon in 2015.
