Collin Doyle

Collin Doyle is an Edmonton-based writer. His play The Mighty Carlins premiered at Workshop West in January 2008. His play for teens, Routes, premiered in the fall of 2009 and has been performed for high school audiences across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. Let the Light of Day Through premiered at Theatre Network in April 2013.

In 2018, Collin had two new works produced: Slumberland Motel at Shadow Theatre and Terry and the Dog at Edmonton Actors Theatre.

His plays have received Sterling Awards for Outstanding Production, Outstanding Independent Production, Outstanding Production for Young Audiences, Outstanding Fringe Production, Outstanding Fringe New Work, and three times for Outstanding New Work.

He is a four-time recipient of the Alberta Playwriting Competition Award (The Mighty Carlins, Slumberland Motel, Let the Light of Day Through, and The Takeoff) and was the 2019 recipient of the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award for Drama (Let the Light of Day Through).

In 2018, Newest Press published a collection of his plays titled The Mighty Carlins and Other Plays.

Collin is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada.
