VOICES ACROSS BORDERS: Stories of Belonging and Resilience

December 10 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Free

Voices Across Borders: Stories of Belonging and Resilience is an online project created to bring artists and communities together through theatre, storytelling, poetry, and conversation.

The project explores migration, identity, displacement, cultural memory, Black histories, resilience, belonging, and human rights, creating space for artists to share the stories, experiences, and questions behind their work.

For this International Human Rights Day edition, presented in partnership with the Playwrights Guild of Canada, we are pleased to bring together two Calgary-based playwrights and storytellers, Samuel Kugbyi and Cheryl Foggo.

Rather than simply presenting their work, this event invites us into a conversation with the playwrights. Through In the Abroad and John Ware Re-Imagined, we will explore what inspired these works, whose stories they carry, the questions they raise, and how history, identity, migration, and belonging shape their creative process.

We will ask the playwrights about their choices, their experiences, and the conversations they hope their work can create with audiences today.

This is a free online event, however registration is required and can be done by following the event link below.
