From Page to Stage: A Conversation with Trina Davies
From Page to Stage: A Conversation with Trina Davies
Join Trina Davies, Saskatoon-born playwright and the mind behind The Romeo Initiative, in conversation at Persephone Theatre!
Trina will be on their Main Stage to read excerpts from some of her other works before participating in a facilitated Q&A session with Artistic Director Heather Cant, where you’ll be able to get answers to all your burning questions! This event will be ASL interpreted.
Admission is free, concession will be open, and copies of The Romeo Initiative will be available to purchase!
Trina will be reading from her play Silence: Mabel and Alexander Graham Bell, which focuses on the life of Mabel Hubbard and offers a story of love, communication, determination, and influence, all told from Mabel’s perspective as a Deaf woman in a way that will connect with Deaf and hearing audiences alike.
Trina will also be reading from West of the 3rd Meridian, her self-described “Saskatchewan play.” This prairie ghost story is set in a house in an abandoned farmyard – a familiar scene for many of us in Saskatchewan – and tackles themes of expectation, loss, time, and place in a hauntingly human way.
This reading event is made possible through the support of Playwrights Guild of Canada’s PlayConnect Program.
