Penn Kemp is launching LIVES OF DEAD POETS, at the next Apposite Poetry Series!

This event is free and open to the public!

In “Ghost Writings”, Karl Jirgens reviews Lives of Dead Poets: “Penn Kemp weaves us spells of language. Makes magic. Bewitches. Casts spells. Which wood have we entered? Witchwood?… Penn Kemp is one of Canada’s national literary treasures… Kemp has spoken these words for you and for me. Read these readings and writings. Read these pleasures of the text!”

Poet, performer and playwright Penn Kemp has been celebrated as a trailblazer since her first publication of poetry by Coach House (1972). Penn has long been a keen participant/activist in Canada’s cultural life, with thirty+ books of poetry, prose and drama; seven plays and ten CDs produced as well as award-winning videopoems. Penn has performed in arts festivals around the world, giving readings and workshops in various writer-in-residencies from the Yukon to Labrador and throughout India and Brazil, Britain and Germany.
