Carolyn Zapf

Carolyn Zapf is a playwright, dramaturg, and publishing professional based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She is currently editing several non-fiction books for the University of Toronto Press and has recently completed editing an epic poetry trilogy, now published. As a playwright, she has written commissioned works for theatres across Canada and was the first playwright-in-residence for the National Theatre School of Canada (English section). Her plays include Voices from the Holocaust, Dinosaurs, Simre the Dwarf, and Old Tomorrow: The Story of the CPR. She served for 8 years as co-artistic director/producer and dramaturg of the New Ideas Festival in Toronto; as dramaturg for FireWorks Festival in Toronto; and as dramaturg for Magnus Theatre’s 10×10 festival in Thunder Bay. She is a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas.
