Toph Whitmore

TOPH WHITMORE is an award-winning British Columbia playwright, screenwriter, and actor.

Whitmore’s play The Beast of Mt. Seymour was first produced in 2019. His stage play Dougie’s Last Christmas was a finalist in the 2024 Cambridge Script Festival. The adapted screenplay was a finalist in the 2024 Edinburgh Film Awards, a semi-finalist in the 2024 Emerging Screenwriters Comedy Screenplay Competition, and a semi-finalist in the 2024 San Francisco Independent Film Festival. It was also an official selection of the 2024 Montreal Independent Film Festival, the 2024 Toronto Film and Script Awards, and the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.

Several comedy sketches — including “Ex Cops,” “What About Bianca?,” and “Everybody Dies in the End” — have won awards in sketch-writing competitions. His short story “The Lars Toshiba Show” won the 2018 NSWA contest for fiction. He is also the author of the panto Titanic 2: The Iceberg Cometh.
