Toph Whitmore
TOPH WHITMORE is an award-winning British Columbia playwright and (very occasional) actor.
Whitmore’s stage play DOUGIE’S LAST CHRISTMAS won the 2024 London Independent Story Prize for stage plays, won the 2025 Chicago Script Awards prize for stage plays, and was a finalist in the 2024 Cambridge Script Festival. His other stage works include BANANA PALM, a farce that highlights the complexities of modern family dynamics, and the workplace comedy THE PLACE WHERE THE GEESE HAVE BEEN. He is the author of the pantos TITANIC 2: THE ICEBERG COMETH and THE BEAST OF MT. SEYMOUR, which was first produced in 2019.
Several of his shorter comic pieces — including EX COPS, WHAT ABOUT BIANCA?, and EVERYBODY DIES IN THE END — have won awards in sketch-writing competitions. His short story “The Lars Toshiba Show” won the 2018 NSWA contest for fiction.
