Based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, John started writing for the theatre after taking a course in creative writing in 1999. He got hooked on creating stories with dialogue, one of the class assignments. His first professional production was Between Friends which premiered at Lighthouse Festival Theatre in 2008. That was followed by Grounded and Jessie’s Landing, both of which also premiered at Lighthouse. His other plays, all comedies, include The Numbers Game and Off the Grid, which continue to be performed in Canada and the US. John was the recipient of Ottawa Little Theatre’s Gladys Cameron Watt award for The Third Life of Eddie Mann.
