John Spurway
Based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, John writes contemporary comedies about ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. His first play premiered at Lighthouse Festival Theatre in Port Dover, Ontario, in 2008. Since then, he has had plays performed in Canada and the United States. These include The Numbers Game, Off the Grid and others as listed below. He was the recipient of Ottawa Little Theatre’s Gladys Cameron Watt award for The Third Life of Eddie Mann.
His most recent production, Leaving Marjorie Bliss, premiered at Upper Canada Playhouse in Morrisburg in 2024. He is currently looking forward to seeing his latest play, Common Ground, on the stage at the Orillia Opera House in the summer of 2025.
