Mr. Sprung is a writer of plays, films, radio drama and an arts journalist whose writing has appeared in many publications across Canada. Plays include Death and Taxes and Fight On!, both published by InfiniPress. Kafka’s Ape, his translation and adaptation of a Franz Kafka short story played for over 150 performances and toured Canada and as far away as Tokyo and Beijing. His CBC/Radio Canada TV documentary House of Dreams / La maison des rêves –was nominated for a Gémeaux as best social documentary of the year. His radio play On Guard For Thee won a B’nai Brith national broadcasting award. The feature film, The Hat Goes Wild played for years on the Movie Network. HOT ICE, Directing Shakespeare in Moscow, his director’s diary on directing Midsummer Night’s Dream in Russian at the Pushkin Theatre in Moscow is in most libraries across Canada. Mr Sprung was also a long-time Book Critic and Columnist for the Montreal Gazette Literary Section.
