Kamila Sediego is a Filipinx settler, child of immigrants, sister, auntie, playwright, and dramaturg grateful to live on the stolen territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples, colonially known as “Vancouver, BC.” Her known ancestral roots are embedded in Iloilo, Cebu, and Manila, Philippines.
In the Spring of 2024, the world premiere of Kamila’s play Homecoming opened at The Cultch and at The Evergreen Arts Centre. She is also a Playwrights Theatre Centre Associate, and is a Resident Dramaturg of Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre’s Creation Lab (formerly known as the MSG Lab.) With the care and support of many, she is currently exploring trauma and its relation to Filipinx folklore, legacy, and spiritual safety in a new play, Engkanto.
