Brian Richardson was born and raised in Dun Laoghaire, Éire. After emigrating to the U.S. he obtained a Liberal Arts B.A. from the State University of New York. He then taught High School English and directing Drama in upstate New York he moved to Montreal and got his first professional acting job with Youtheatre. Thence to Halifax to work with Youtharts in cross-disciplinary performance for young audiences with one of the Spinners troupes in that city. A year later, driving from Halifax toward Vancouver his car broke down in Winnipeg and there he remained and became an established theatre artist. Awarded the Victor Cowie award by ACTRA Manitoba for his contribution to the province’s performing arts and similarly an Evie by the Winnipeg Theatre awards, Brian’s writing (also his performing) encompasses Museum Theatre, Vaudeville, Drama, and Poetry. Stage, radio and television have all been his field of work.
