Bet O’Toole
Bet has been involved in theatre in Saint John, NB, as an actor, director and playwright for over 30 years. She has written for PGC’s Canplay and CBC Radio. Her play Lily’s Song was performed at the Imperial Theatre in 2005 and 2008, raising $15,000 for the Alzheimer Society. Eight of her One Acts have been chosen through a Maritime Playwriting Competition for the Saint JohnTheatre Company’s production of Script Happens, the most recent ones being The Appearance of Truth (2018), and The Spider in the Tub (2019), which was also selected by Act III Productions for a reading in 2024. Her full length play The Land of Beauty received a reading by Live Bait Theatre’s New Works Festival in 2021 and was produced for streaming and the stage by the SJTC in June 8-11, 2022.
