Rachel Mutombo is an award-winning actor and writer who has bounced between Toronto and Montreal for most of her life. An acting graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, some theatre performance highlights include the world premiere of Antigone:方 (Young People’s Theatre) and the Canadian premiere of School Girls; Or the African Mean Girls Play (Obsidian Theatre/Nightwood Theatre). As a playwright, Rachel’s works include Vierge, Wake, 6X10 and Homeroom. Vierge was awarded 1st prize in
Infinitheatre’s Write-On-Q playwriting competition and Homeroom was awarded the TYA Award from the Playwrights Guild of Canada. Rachel was also the most recent awardee of the Jon Kaplan Legacy Fund playwriting award.
