Celia McBride
Celia McBride is a writer and spiritual director from the Yukon now living in Port Hope. After graduating from the Playwriting Program at the National Theatre School of Canada in 1995, she spent the next two decades writing more than twenty plays and directing, producing and performing in many of them, both nationally and internationally. Mirabai Productions, her film company, produced several movie projects, including Last Stop for Miles, a feature film about trauma and personal transformation. Sour Brides Theatre, a company Celia co-founded and co-artistic directed, toured her play So Many Doors (Playwrights Canada Press), about parental grief, across Canada. Further achievements include receiving the prestigious Fox Fellowship Award; being commissioned and produced by the Stratford Festival of Canada; and writing and directing the Yukon’s Victory Ceremonies segment at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. In 2022, Celia published a memoir called O My God: An Un-Becoming Journey.
