Born in a meteor crater, Matthew is a writer and theatre maker living in North Ontario. He holds a BFA in Acting from Toronto Metropolitan University, and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick. His produced plays include A Maritime Nutcracker, Ever Falling Flight, Receiver of Wreck, Mucking in the Drift, Plague, and The Nick Drake Project. His play for teens, Black Dog: 4 vs the wrld, is published by Playwrights Canada Press. He is the winner of the Tarragon Theatre RBC Emerging Playwrights Award, the KM Hunter Award for theatre, and has been shortlisted for the Carol Bolt Award. He has served as playwright-in-residence with Sudbury Theatre Centre, and Pat the Dog Theatre Creation. He teaches creative writing at Laurentian University. In his spare time, he is usually working. |
