Annette Loiselle

Annette has a BFA in acting from the University of Alberta and has been working as an actor, director, teacher, producer and writer in theatre for over 30 years. She was the 12-year Artistic Director of SkirtsAfire and 25-year Artistic Associate of Freewill Shakespeare, both beloved Edmonton festivals she co-founded in Edmonton. She was the Dramaturg, Director and Producer of Mermaid Legs by Beth Graham, a 2024 SkirtsAfire commission which garnered 10 Sterling Nominations and won 5 Sterling Awards, including Outstanding Production and Outstanding New Play. Her play, The Passion of Mary also received a Sterling Nomination for Outstanding Independent Production in 2012 and her short play, Bathtime, was part of The Mommy Monologues at SkirtsAfire in 2017. Annette has been recognized for a Global Woman of Vision Award, a Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Medal and she was a top 3 finalist for a Christopher Plummer Award.
