Kevin Klassen

Kevin is a theatre artist based in Winnipeg, on Treaty 1 Land. His first play Aftertaste received the Harry S. Rintoul Memorial Award, and he has also received the Reg Skene Award for Emerging Playwright. His play Bleeding Hearts was produced by Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, and Bleeding Hearts, Cue For Treason, and Bram Stoker and the Blood of the Everlasting Covenant received staged readings at Prairie Theatre Exchange’s Carol Shields Festival. He has participated in the Manitoba Arts Council’s Riding Mountain Artist’s Residency and the Manitoba Association of Playwrights’ (MAP) Colony. Kevin’s work as a director, producer, and dramaturge also keeps him busy, and his work as an actor has been seen in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa. He is a member of MAP and CAEA, and studied theatre at the University of Winnipeg, the Citadel/Banff Professional Training Program, and Directors Lab North.
