Jessica B. Hill
Jessica is a bilingual theatre artist originally from Montreal. As an actor, she has worked eight seasons at the Stratford Festival, starring as Viola in Twelfth Night, Helen in All’s Well That Ends Well and Lady Anne in Richard III. As a playwright, she made her debut in 2023 with her two first plays, The Dark Lady and Pandora, both premiering a few months apart. The Dark Lady welcomed its second production later that year. Both plays were published together in 2024. She is a two-time recipient of Stratford Festival’s Mary Savidge Award, The National Theatre School’s Bernard Amyot Teaching Award and Montreal’s first recipient of the Elsa Bolam Award. She trained with Stratford Festival’s Birmingham Conservatory, graduated from McGill University and Dawson College’s DOME theatre program. Jessica is a visiting teacher at National Theatre school and works as an actor in both English and French on stage, screen, in voice work and mocap. She is Necessary Angel’s Playwright-in-Residence for 2024-2026.
