Born in England, Samantha Colwell-Castles is a first-time playwright residing in Bruce County, Ontario. Samantha found a creative outlet during the COVID-19 pandemic in writing her first play You, Me, and a Bit of Driftwood, a comedic drama about a couple navigating their relationship, personal challenges, and family dynamics through the backdrop of the pandemic. The play premiered at The Roxy Theatre, Owen Sound in February 2023 with excellent reviews.

Samantha trained as an actor in Vancouver, BC at Gastown Actor’s Studio, Actor’s Working Academy and Actor’s Film Factory. She has performed in many professional theatre productions including Sexy Laundry by Michele Riml, A Red Plaid Shirt by Michael G. Wilmot, Nunsense by Dan Goggin, and Shirley Valentine by Willy Russell.

As someone who values creative endeavours and enjoys supporting others in their journeys, Samantha offers up a positive note to aspiring writers: “Yes, you can. Just start to write.”
