Marie Barlizo – Montreal-based Filipino-Chinese playwright, producer and dramaturg. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing (UBC) and first BIPOC to graduate from National Theatre School’s (NTS) Playwriting Program. Recipient of the 2022 Bernard Amyot Teaching Award at NTS and winner of the 2022 Jovette Marchessault award for Playwriting. Currently, she’s an instructor and Playwriting Mentor at NTS; a mentor at Black Theatre Workshop’s Artist Mentorship Program; artist-in residence at Boca del Lupo developing Pamilyia, artist-in-residence at RMTC developing The Warrior, artist-in-residence at Native Earth Performing Arts Theatre developing The Healing & artist-in-residence at Performance Laboratory, Inc (Philippines).
