Katherine’s first full-length play was produced in 2003 but for fourteen years she became preoccupied with shorter one-act plays, writing venue-specific historical plays in which she was also involved as an actor and director. Four of her ten-minute plays were selected by the jury of the now defunct HamilTEN Festival. Her main audience has been community theatre where she is involved not only as a playwright but also as actor, stage manager, ASM, props manager, usher or whatever else is required. Her focus is reflecting the absurdities and foibles of average people and situations, hopefully making audiences laugh in rueful recognition. She is a founding member of Playwrights Niagara.
