Member Play Receives Voaden Mention

Celia McBride’s new play, Lessons from Providence, developed as part of the 2024 Creator’s Unit at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, ON, won 2nd Honourable Mention in the 2025 Voaden Prize. The play, about a chaplain working in a long-term care home and struggling with the ethics of MAiD, received a workshop and staged reading in fall 2024, directed by Rob Kempson and starring Marie Beath Badian, Chick Reid and Tom McCamus.
