Kate Jaimet’s tennis-themed comedy Mixed Doubles is a finalist in the prestigious Austin Film Festival’s Scriptwriting competition. Premiered at Ottawa’s Gladstone Theatre in 2023, Mixed Doubles tells the story of a Gen-Z couple at a ramshackle community tennis club who embark on a crazy cross-dressing scheme to convince a Baby-Boomer donor and her philandering husband to pry open their wallets and save the club from ruin. With surprise appearances by Ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes and commedia dell’ arte diva Isabella Andreini, nobody plays by the rules in this madcap 21st-century farce!
