Fostered Playwrights Festival and Development Program – DEADLINE: 2026/11/02

The Foster Festival is seeking submissions for play development with the commitment to introducing new Canadian playwrights to Foster Festival audiences during our 2027 season. They will workshop three (3) new Canadian works which focus on the Festival's mandate of "humour with heart." Each play will be developed in conjunction with the Foster Festival Artistic Producing Staff and will receive a public reading in April 2027. One (1), or all,  of the three (3) new plays may be chosen for a full production to be included in their 2028 or upcoming Season(s).

The Foster Festival is interested in full length, two-act plays that read in and around the two-hour mark that may or may not touch upon relevant social issues. Apart from these broad parameters they encourage voices of diverse backgrounds, culture, gender, and sexual orientation as is reflected in our community of the greater Niagara Region and Canada as a whole.
