Description
The inaugural ATLANTIC ONE ACT FESTIVAL, hosted by King’s Theatre, will take place in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia/Kespuwitk, Mi’kmaki, the week of August 18-22, 2027.
One Act showcases the work of emerging Atlantic Canadian playwrights, because in these times, the importance of telling our own stories has never been greater. Playwrights must be living in one of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces (Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, or Newfoundland & Labrador).
Playwrights living in the Atlantic provinces are invited to submit short one-act play scripts in any of three categories:
- Short (1-5 minutes)
- Medium (10-15 minutes)
- Long (20-30 minutes)
The best scripts overall will be selected to comprise two 90-minute shows, which will be performed at King’s Theatre in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada. Because the plays will be of varying lengths, the number of scripts to be produced will not be known until the selection process is complete.
